Everything We Know About Welcome to the Game 3: Simon’s Debt

Jay DaviesNewsOctober 30, 2025

Back in July, it was confirmed that the Welcome to the Game series would be returning with a third instalment, subtitled Simon’s Debt. Here’s everything we know so far.

Release Date and Price

Originally scheduled for October 17, 2025, Welcome to the Game 3 has been delayed, according to Reflect Studios developer Adam Flatau on X (formerly Twitter). While no exact release date has been given, he anticipates the game will still launch before the end of the year.

The game will launch on Steam at $19.99 USD.

Story and Setting

“After striking up a debt with folks who refuse to accept a failure to pay, Simon has landed himself into a tough spot. Backed into a corner by his own poor decision making he’s forced to play “The Game” tonight, where life or death are his only possible outcomes. Winning the grand prize isn’t enough for the people he owes, so a bet has been made to up the potential winnings and in return the organizers of “The Game” can make things more dangerous for Simon.”

Simon’s home base will be a motel, a much smaller and more intimate setting than Welcome to the Game 2’s huge apartment building. However, players aren’t confined to their room – the dev has shared a video showing that you can leave the motel, explore the parking lot, and even enter the reception area. From this base, players will navigate eight-plus enemies (not sure what the “plus” means in this case).

Enemies and Threats

Players will encounter at least 8 unique enemies, including returning enemy Tanner, recognizable from Scrutinized.

Optional DLC will allow players to change Tanner’s outfit, including a swimsuit.

I would expect for fan-favourites Noir and Lucas the hitman to return, but we’ve not had confirmation yet.

Gameplay Mechanics

Welcome to the Game 3 expands on the series’ signature dark web horror, with both returning and updated features:

  • Dark net exploration: Players will browse 52 websites, an expansion from previous games, filled with puzzles and hidden pieces needed to pay off Simon’s debt. Adam has also confirmed that some player-submitted usernames will appear in WTTG3.
  • Hacking mini-games: Multiple new hacking mini-games have been added.
  • Optional permadeath: The developer has mentioned he is leaning toward making normal mode without permadeath and reserving permadeath for a “1337 mode,” but this has not been fully confirmed yet. Of course, Welcome to the Game and Welcome to the Game 2 were notoriously challenging, featuring no save option throughout a playthrough, so even a normal mode without permadeath would be a notable change.
  • File downloads: For the first time in the series, players can download files such as mp4 videos. Some files may be sent by NPCs through the chat program, potentially in exchange for DOSCoin, though details are limited.
  • Communication system: Similar to the system introduced in Dead Signal, players can interact with NPCs via an in-game chat program.
  • Dynamic weather system: The game will feature dynamic weather events, including rain and lightning.
  • Gambling mini-game: Simon can play a gambling mini-game on his computer, where players can wager in-game cash for potential rewards.
  • DOSCoin system: Returning from WTTG2 and Dead Signal, players can earn and spend DOSCoin to buy computer upgrades or softwares.
  • The playable character has an in-game model: For the first time in the franchise, the protagonist has a fully realised in-game model.
  • NPC Competitors: The Steam page mentions “Race against NPC competitors who are trying to achieve the same goal. Take action against them to either slow or remove them permanently from the competition, but remember they can do the same to you.” Sounds like NPCs might also be playing the game due to debt problems, so they might factor into the “8+ threats”.
  • Multiple endings: WTTG 3 will feature 5 different endings.

Conclusion

Welcome to the Game 3: Simon’s Debt promises to be the most ambitious entry in the series yet, expanding on dark web horror and strategic yet challenging gameplay. With new websites to explore, threats to avoid, and a brand new setting, I’m super excited for WTTG 3 to come out, whenever it does.

We will update this article as new information becomes available, but the best way to stay up to date is to follow Reflect Studios’ official account.
