If you’re a fan of Game Theory, you’ll likely recognise Tom Robinson as the man who succeeded MatPat as the host. Now, Robinson is taking on a very different role by voicing the protagonist in the bizarre upcoming low-fidelity horror game Pepper the Giant Purple Dog.
Robinson plays Jacob Collins, a conspiracy-focused content creator who gets his hands on an unreleased video game called Pepper the Giant Purple Dog. At first, the game appears to be a harmless pet simulator where players complete errands, solve puzzles, and look after the titular oversized purple canine.
Naturally, things don’t stay harmless for long as Pepper’s appetite grows increasingly impossible to satisfy and the seemingly cheerful town of NormalVille begins to reveal a far more disturbing side. What starts off as a quirky game-within-a-game quickly spirals into something much darker.
The game’s distinctive visual style comes from Gerald Grabowski, an artist known for his work on Garten of Banban, while development is being handled by Silvercity Sharks, the studio behind the Night at the Museum-esque horror Night of the Instinct.
This absolute fever dream of a game is currently scheduled to launch in Q3 2026. Watch the announcement trailer below:Â
