Desecrated Deck Turns Rock-Paper-Scissors Into Psychological Horror

Desecrated Deck is a first-person psychological horror game for PC built around a cursed card deck and a dark take on a childhood classic.

You play through a best-of-three system where each round is decided by rock, paper, or scissors. Item and perk cards then layer onto the match adding further depth, with effects like the Cursed Mirror reflecting attacks back at your opponent, and the Fortune Teller’s Glass Ball giving you a sneak peek at other cards.

There’s even mechanics around Spin the Bottle and a dice game, though I’m not sure how exactly they’ll fit into the flow of the gameplay just yet.

From the initial description, it gives off strong Buckshot Roulette and Inscryption vibes. Simple rules on the surface, but with a deeper layer of strategy underneath. It leans heavily into an occult atmosphere, with tension and unease doing most of the heavy lifting instead of traditional jump scares.

Created by solo developer Elvis Posa on Unreal Engine 5, Desecrated Deck doesn’t have a release date just yet, but it’s one to keep an eye on if the concept hooks you. Check out the Steam page or the trailer below:
