Edit: Adam Flatau (the developer) announced on Twitter (X) that he has delayed Welcome to the Game III, but he still expects the game to launch sometime this year.
A third title in the Welcome to the Game franchise has been teased by Reflect Studios. Developer Adam Flatau dropped a mysterious teaser image on Twitter revealing the title Welcome to the Game: Simon’s Debt and a near release date of October 17, 2025.
This will be the first official Welcome to the Game entry in eight years, as Reflect Studios has been focused on spin-offs like Scrutinized and Dead Signal. Previously, Reflect teased a title called Welcome to the Game: John’s Chapter. It’s currently unknown if Simon’s Debt is a new working title or a separate project from John’s Chapter.
While the teaser promises “more details to come,” there are a few clues hidden in the announcement image that might reveal what’s ahead.
At the forefront is a medical needle. Players of Reflect’s 2020 horror game Scrutinized will recognize it as the weapon wielded by one of that game’s killers, Tanner. The needle also features a loveheart and the name “Luna,” the detective protagonist of Scrutinized.
This strongly suggests Tanner might appear in the new Welcome to the Game title. Reflect Studios is known for sharing characters across their games. For example, Noir, originally from Welcome to the Game, also appears in Dead Signal. The hitman Lucas is another recurring character, albeit with a bit more firepower in Dead Signal.
Plus, Adam tweeted last month “Hypothetically speaking.. What kind of outfits would you like to see Tanner in?”. Maybe Tanner will appear sporting a different fit than in Scrutinized.
In the background of the teaser is a masked figure, which, to my knowledge, hasn’t appeared in any previous Reflect Studios titles. Since these games often feature multiple killers, this might be a brand-new threat players will have to evade in this third entry.
A quick look around Reflect Studios’ Twitter suggests the game’s setting is a seedy-looking motel.
It’s still unclear if Simon’s Debt will be a full-fledged sequel or a spin-off, but the stylised title, where every “E” is replaced by a “3”, strongly hints that it’s the official third instalment in the franchise. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that this is in fact Welcome to the Game 3.
We’re looking forward to seeing what Welcome to the Game: Simon’s Debt brings to the table this October. Stay tuned at JumpScared! for more updates as the release date approaches.
