If you’ve been getting a bit tired of the same cosy shop simulators, this one at least throws something a bit more unhinged into the mix.
ZOMBUTCHER: Monster Business Simulator is set to launch June 11 on Steam, and it puts you in the rotting shoes of a zombie trying to keep a butcher shop alive in a run-down Louisiana town.
By day, it’s fairly straightforward. You’re running the shop, serving customers, upgrading equipment, and trying to keep up with growing demand as your business slowly expands.
It’s at night where things get a lot messier.
Your customer base shifts from humans to monsters, with orders for things like brains and bottled blood. Just make sure you don’t get your supply chains mixed up, unless you want a very awkward customer complaint.
Once the sun goes down, ZOMBUTCHER flips into stealth-action territory. You head out into the streets to “restock,” avoiding patrols while trying to gather what your monster clientele expect on the menu.
It’s a simple loop on paper, but that mix of management and stealth could be the hook here. If it lands, it’ll feel a bit like Ravenous Devils in spirit, which nailed that “run a shop by killing people and selling their meat” idea really well. We’ll have to see if ZOMBUTCHER manages to stick the landing when it launches in June.
