Robbing Time, the debut game from indie studio Monday Squid, has officially launched in Early Access, and it’s bringing one of the strangest genre mash-ups I’ve seen this year. It’s a co-op horror heist game where you and up to four friends sneak into vaults, grab the goods, and try not to get obliterated by patrolling superheroes. That’s right, it’s got horror, heists and superheroes.
In Robbing Time, you and your crew take on the role of aspiring super-villains. Each heist sends you traversing through banks, mansions, and labs as you dodge cops, tiptoe under security lasers, and try not to blow your cover while raiding heavily guarded vaults. Every player has to escape with their own briefcase, so if someone gets caught, that’s on them.

To succeed, you’ll rely on a small but chaotic toolkit. Gadgets like teleporters, trackers, and boomboxes help you distract guards or slip past trouble. Your inventory is limited to three items, so teams need to spread important gear around. Batteries on each map help keep your equipment powered while you sneak deeper into the vaults.
You’ll also find piles of money across each map, which can be traded back at the prison hub for new gadgets and upgrades to improve your heisting potential.
Early Access introduces four original superheroes, each with unique abilities that can be both a threat and, if used cleverly, an advantage.

Nightstalker uses her cat to move stealthily through vents, while Super Dog can be distracted with a slab of raw meat. Then there’s the elusive Disappearing Man, and you can probably guess what he does.
The superheroes are extremely powerful. Even if you can handle security guards and police officers, going toe-to-toe with the superheroes isn’t an option. You’ll need to rely on distraction, stealth, or just straight up running away to survive.
