One of Dead by Daylight’s most beloved limited-time modes is making its return, and I couldn’t be more excited. The 2v8 mode, which hasn’t been available since September (I know, so sad), is back today with two exciting killer additions: Silent Hill’s Pyramid Head and Castlevania’s Dracula.
2v8 is my favorite limited-time mode in DBD for one simple reason: when survivors escape and things go completely sideways, I have someone else to share the blame with. There’s something liberating about being able to look at your killer partner and collectively wonder where it all went wrong, instead of sitting alone with your failures in a standard 1v4 match.
Expanded Killer Roster
With the addition of Pyramid Head and Dracula, players now have 14 killers to choose from in 2v8 mode. While that’s still not quite the 41 available in standard matches, we are getting there, okay!
The event only lasts from November 6th until November 20, 11AM ET, so you’ve got a few weeks to see how these two killers match up against the other killers in the 2v8 roster.
However, there’s one notable absence: the Legion has been removed from this iteration of 2v8. Despite being playable since version 3 of the mode in February 2025, Legion’s Frenzy ability proved too effective at injuring survivors when there are double the targets, and wasn’t really fun to play against as a survivor. As someone who doesn’t even like playing against Legion in the standard 1v4 mode, I’m down with this change.
New Killer Abilities
As with all killers in 2v8, both newcomers feature modified innate skills tailored to the mode. According to the DBD wiki:
Dracula’s innate skill modifies his Vampiric Shift power with the following effects:
Pyramid Head’s innate skill modifies his Rites of Judgment power with the following effects:
Balance Changes
This update also includes a survivor-side adjustment: “Reduced the Recovery requirement for triggering the Self-Recovery ability on Survivor Team Skills from 94% to 70%”.
You can hop into DBD 2v8 right now to try out some new killer combos. And if you’re returning to the game after a break, don’t forget to check out our list of working DBD codes for free cosmetics and some juicy bloodpoints.
There’s a pretty sick trailer for this event too, which you can watch below:
