Sabotage the Lockdown is an MK Challenge in The Outlast Trials that takes place in the Police Station. In this trial, reagents must carry a canister of fuel through the basement to power a generator, then exit the trial.
The challenge in this MK challenge lies in the random map generation, which blocks different doors and routes in the basement each time you attempt the trial. However, fortunately, the generator’s position is always the same.
How to Complete Sabotage the Lockdown
At the start of the trial, you’ll reach a set of stairs leading down to the basement. Just before the stairs, you’ll find the fuel canister on a table, along with a map. You need to take this fuel from the entrance of the basement, all the way to the generator at the other side.
The trial isn’t as simple as the map suggests, as blocked routes and enemies may force you to take longer, more roundabout paths.
Reaching the Generator
The basement is divided into three sectors, which you must progress through to reach the generator. Coyle and other enemies (depending on difficulty) patrol these areas. Coyle usually patrols the sector you’re in. For example, if you move from Sector A to Sector B, he will start patrolling Sector B, so plan your movements accordingly. He doesn’t backtrack either, so if you have to return to Sector A for any reason, he’ll keep patrolling Sector B.
When navigating the basement, keep in mind that the generator is essentially straight ahead from where you entered the basement. If you encounter a blocked route, try going left or right to find an open path, but aim to generally move forward rather than back toward your starting point.
One pretty reliable route is via the back halls of the basement, accessible through the garage door. To reach this route, immediately turn left upon entering the basement and continue straight until you see the door.
Once you get familiar with the different paths to reach the generator, completing the trial should become much faster. This is why Sabotage the Lockdown is a popular choice for grinding XP and levels due to its singular objective and short completion time.
Power the Generator
When you reach the generator, pour in the fuel, complete the switches on both sides, and pull the rip cord to activate it. Be careful, as the generator is in a well-lit area, so Coyle can easily spot you while performing these tasks. Keep your eyes and ears open to avoid being caught.
At this stage, make sure to check if you’ve completed the secondary objective, as these must be finished before exiting the trial in order to earn an A+ ranking.
Exiting the Trial
Once the generator is powered, the metal EXIT gate next to it will open, providing your escape route. Climb up the ledge to street level, then make your way toward the shuttles to exit the trial.
Coyle will spawn on the left side of this outdoor area, opposite the shuttles.
Best Rig for Sabotage the Lockdown
There aren’t any rigs that are especially overpowered on this trial, so use whichever rig you’re most comfortable with. The Stun Rig is a solid choice, as it gives you extra protection from enemies as you’re traversing the basement.
Best Amps for Sabotage the Lockdown
I’d recommend Smash, as it allows you to break open co-op doors, opening up more routes to reach the generator. Aside from Smash, take whichever amps best fit your playstyle.
