JumpScared! was founded in 2022 under the moniker Horror Game News by two horror gaming enthusiasts – Chris and Jay. Hey, it’s nice to meet you!
We wanted to share their passion and love for the genre with like-minded gamers. Since the start, our aim has always been to provide players with quality information about their favourite games, either through news, reviews, or handy guides.
In 2025, we changed our name to JumpScared! to be able to cover more than just games (and escape Google’s deep dislike for exact match domain names).

Jay has been a passionate gamer for the last 5 years, falling in love with video games by playing titles such as Outlast, Resident Evil 7, and Dead by Daylight which fostered her love for the genre. Her favourite pieces to write are guides on multiplayer horror such as Phasmophobia and DBD, as she has over a thousand horrors in the games combined.

Topher had been playing video games for over a decade and stumbled into the horror genre when he met Jay. Some of his favourite horror games include Phasmophobia, Welcome to the Game and Resident Evil 2. Topher's love for horror genre also extends to movies and short stories, which fueled his love for writing and eventually led him to found Horror Game News.
